CompTIA Security+ Cost Per Package

CompTIA Security+ Vouchers

If you’re not interested in bundled products, you can choose individual vouchers to customize your program. Vouchers for exam preparation tools range from $169 to $545. The exam voucher is $392.

Available Discounts for CompTIA Security+ Certification

When you purchase a bundle through CompTIA, you get a discount on the products. Purchasing each one of them individually will cost you more. CompTIA does not offer discounts for exam retakes, so be prepared to pay the full price for the exam each time you take it.

CompTIA Exam Retakes

CompTIA will let you retake the exam if you do not pass it on the first try. There is no waiting period between the first and second exam attempts, but you will need to wait at least 14 calendar days between subsequent exam attempts. For example, if you take the exam on March 1 and do not pass it, you can take the exam again on March 2 if it is available. If you fail the second exam, you will have to wait until March 16 to retest. If you do not pass the third time, the earliest you can sit for the exam again is 30.

How to Sign Up for the CompTIA Security+ Certification

One reason the CompTIA Security+ certification examination is popular with those entering their security careers is that it has no prerequisites. CompTIA does recommend you have at least a couple of years of experience working in the field, but it’s not necessary.

To sign up for the certification exam, you need to create an account with CompTIA. From there, you can schedule an appointment for the exam and pay for it using a credit card or exam voucher. When signing up, be sure to select the language you want to take the exam in and note the exam location. You also have the option to sign up for the exam through a CompTIA exam partner.

After You Take The CompTIA Security+ Exam

Passing the CompTIA Security+ exam is just the beginning. Your certification is valid for three years, and you need to renew it before the expiration date if you want to keep your certification. To qualify for renewal, you must earn a set number of continuing education units. You can earn them through various activities and training programs and by earning higher certifications. When you earn higher certifications, you only need to meet the renewal requirements for the highest certification you hold, and CompTIA will automatically renew all the remaining certifications you hold.
